Hash

A product made from the accumulation of dry sieve or trichomes after a water extraction. This product is a concentrated form of cannabis that is can be heated or vaporized.

Haze

A Sativa dominant strain that is well-known for its energizing effects and floral aroma. Haze has multiple sub-strains, which generally include the word “haze” in their title as well.

Heady glass

A top market smoking piece made from glass. These bongs, pipes, and bubblers are made by glass artists and are generally incredibly complex, features detail that is both for aesthetics and for improving the quality of each hit. This pieces are generally much more expensive than a standard convenience store pipe and can cost anywhere from several hundred to several thousands of dollars.

Heat cleaning

The process of heating bowls, nails, one-hitters, or other smoking mechanisms that come in direct contact with combusted or vaporized herb in order to burn off the leftover resin. Heat cleaning is usually one of the easiest ways to clean a smoking piece.

Heirloom

Any breed of cannabis that has not been crossbred or mixed with another strain. Also referred to as a “virgin” strain.

Hemp

The fibers in the cannabis plant, which typically is harvested from the stems and seeds. Hemp is used to make textiles, paper products, hemp-based plastics, and more.

Hemp oil

An oil made from the hemp fibers in the cannabis plant that can be used topically, taken orally, or used for cooking.

High-cannabinoid Full Spectrum Extract (HCFSE)

A hydrocarbon extraction method that strives to preserve as many cannabinoid molecules as possible.

High-terpene Full Spectrum Extract (HTFSE)

A hydrocarbon extraction method used to preserve as many terpenoid molecules as possible.

Hybrid

A strain of cannabis created by combining two other strains. Hybrids are often a combination of indica and Sativa and have properties of both, making them balanced.

Hydrocarbon extraction

An extraction method that involves butane, pentane, hexane, or propane and generally results in a potent final product.

Hydroponics

Method for growing cannabis in water with no soil. A hydroponic system is widely regarded as one of the best ways to grow high quality, potent cannabis, but requires special nutrients and equipment, like an aeration system. Many large producers use hydroponics to grow their cannabis, and hydroponic strains are often more costly in the dispensary because they are often of higher quality.
